What Is a Therapy Intensive?

A therapy intensive is an extended session (or series of sessions) where we focus deeply on your healing in a more concentrated way. I often integrate EMDR, parts work (IFS), somatic techniques, and creative approaches to support your nervous system throughout.

Instead of 50-minute sessions, we meet for longer blocks of time (75, 90 or 120 minutes)—allowing us to:

❋ Move beyond surface-level coping

❋ Gently access and reprocess deeper experiences

❋ Stay with your process without interruption

❋ Integrate mind, body, and emotions in real time

Who Are Intensives For?

Therapy intensives might be a good fit if you:

  • Feel “stuck” in weekly therapy

  • Want to process a specific memory or experience quicker

  • Notice recurring patterns (anxiety, people-pleasing, overwhelm)

  • Have a busy schedule and want deeper work in less time

  • Are preparing for or moving through a life transition

  • Notice they benefit from having more time to in a session to feel comfortable going to the difficult stuff

  • Feel ready to go deeper—but want support doing it safely

What a Session Might Look Like

Every intensive is personalized, but a session may include:


Grounding & nervous system preparation


Identifying targets (memories, themes, or parts)


EMDR processing using bilateral stimulation


Creative or reflective integration (if that resonates with you)


Parts work (connecting with different aspects of yourself)


There is no pressure to “push through”, we move at a pace that feels supportive and safe.

Therapy intensives are an investment in deeper, more focused healing.

Because these sessions are extended and thoughtfully prepared, they are not billed through insurance and are offered as private pay.

How to Get Started

  • We’ll talk about what you’re hoping to work on and whether an intensive feels like the right fit.

    If we decide an intensive is not the right fit at the time, we can discuss alternate options.

  • Together we will explore your history, pacing the process as a speed that feels most comfortable. We will work to build resources, safety and rapport before we address trauma, anxiety, negative beliefs, etc. Will identify a clear plan for our sessions so you know the plan.
