When ‘Doing Your Best’ Starts to Feel Like Too Much

Therapy for Perfectionism

Perfectionism isn’t just about having high standards—it’s often rooted in anxiety, fear of failure, and a deep desire to feel in control.

From the outside, it might look like you have it all together. But internally, it can feel exhausting trying to keep up with the pressure you place on yourself.

You might find yourself thinking:

“If I don’t do this perfectly, I’ve failed.”

“I should be able to handle this better.”

“Why can’t I just relax and let things be?”

“No matter what I do, it never feels like enough.”

We explore perfectionism with curiosity and compassion.

My Approach to Perfectionism

We may integrate:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) to understand and work with the parts of you that strive for perfection and control

  • Mindful Self-Compassion to soften self-criticism and build a kinder inner dialogue

  • Art Therapy to explore expression beyond words and perfection

  • Cognitive and mindfulness-based techniques to shift thought patterns and increase flexibility

Rather than trying to “get rid of” perfectionism, we focus on understanding its role and helping you develop new, more supportive ways of relating to yourself.

If This Sounds Familiar…

You don’t have to keep living in constant pressure, overthinking, or self-doubt.

If you’re feeling stuck in perfectionism, therapy can help you find more balance, self-trust, and ease—without losing the parts of you that care deeply and strive for growth.
